K-2nd Girls Lacrosse

Hello! Coaches Fisher, Jones, Snyder and Ditzler want to let you know that your girls are doing an AWESOME job with their skills and sticks. They have come so far over the past couple of weeks! We had them scrimmage against one another yesterday and they ROCKED it!!

We have a TOURNAMENT this weekend!
Here’s the details!

When: Saturday, May 1, 2021
Where: Weaver Road Fields, 2800 Weaver Road, Lancaster, PA 17601

Please have your girl suited up and ready to go at Field 5 at 8:30am
Game times:

• 9:00, Field 5 against Manheim Township Blue
• 10:00, Field 5 against Manheim Township White
• 11:00, Field 5 against Hempfield
  Things to bring: PINK shirt!, stick, goggles, mask, mouthguard, water bottle (extra water), snacks for your girl

The Details:
*FUN! This is an opportunity for our young players to get an idea of what a game looks and feels like. It will be exciting, fun and INSTRUCTIONAL so it won’t look like an older level girls lacrosse game. We may stop play often—or not at all—to just let the girls play.
*Our girls will play 25 minute games, rolling clock (clock runs the whole time—it doesn’t stop)
*7 versus 7, no goalie. We will rotate all girls in, all will have good playing time
*You will be able to sit and watch all the games, please consider bringing a chair or blanket to sit on
*Coaches and players are the only ones permitted on the playing surfaces
*It is RECOMMENDED by Weaver Sports Complex that you wear a mask for your and others safety
*Food trucks will be onsite for concessions this weekend—Brewsters & BBQ and Walk-O Taco

DO NOT PARK in the grass. There are plenty of spaces on both ends of the complex.

Things to do before Saturday:

• Let Coach Ditzler know if your girl needs a stick. She will not be bringing the entire bag of sticks to the tournament
• Turn in your girl’s COVID waiver if you haven’t done so already. In order for your girl to play, this must get to Coach Ditzler by Friday at 5pm. Take a picture and text it or email it to her. (717-823-3516 or kmditzler@gmail.com) If she doesn’t have it to turn in on Saturday morning, your daughter will not be able to play. If you aren’t sure if you turned it in—please reach out to her. A majority of parents signed waivers at practice yesterday—thank you!!
• Practice some tossing, catching and scooping with your girl between now and Saturday! Watch the video on our Teampages if you aren’t sure how to coach her on this!
